The Women's Community Association (WCA) is a nonprofit organization providing services for victims of domestic violence.
Jamo completed the design renovations of the Children's Center for the Women's Community Association (WCA) in 1984. The WCA Shelter for Victims of Domestic Violence is located within a Sector Development Plan and the existing structures on the property are identified in the Sector Plan as having been determined to be Historically Significant. The restoration of this project was subject to Design Guidelines and Regulations developed by the City of Albuquerque Landmarks and Urban Conservation Commission. The project involved the renovation and conservation of the 2400 square foot residential building within the historically-significant complex into a Children's Center, to be used for child care, child and adult counseling, and group classes. |
