Cuidando Los Ninos offers two primary programs that work collaboratively toward the goal of ending family homelessness in the Albuquerque area: the Children's Program and the Family Support Program. When the city of Albuquerque chose to replace the building in which CLN was originally located, the expected 18 month construction period required CLN to temporarily relocate. The interim site included two aged buildings which were leased from St. Francis Xavier Church on Broadway Blvd SE. Wright and Hammer Architects and the Children’s Collaborative Workshop worked to complete temporary classrooms, indoor recreation area, counseling services, and playground space that would provide secure, nurturing and therapeutic childcare, and comprehensive, individualized family case management to effect positive change in the lives of the children and families served at the temporary site. The project included Infant and Toddler Classrooms, Kitchen, and Gymnasium renovations, as well as a new exterior playground, with all components designed to be capable of relocation to the permanent site, and constructed entirely by volunteers.
